What my customers thought about my guided tours
I am grateful that my customers were satisfied with my sightseeing services.
Some of them went the extra mile to write a few kind lines.

"We've spent an unforgettable day with Patrick at Rousay. The island is really the highlight of our trip, for all interested in archaeology and history this is a highly recommended place to visit. The natural landscape is beautiful, there are seals on shores and many different birds. The tour itself was without any hurry, flexible and focus on what you need. We are frequent travellers to the north and were in Faroe, Iceland, Greenland but this tour is the best of what we had. Patrick, thank you very much. Greetings from Russia." - A&A

"Many thanks for the smashing trip around Rousay with you today. You gave us a real feel for the community, past and present as well as the puffins." - D+H+P

"Being limited to only one day on Rousay we opted for this small tour (6) with Paddy. His breadth and depth of knowledge of the island are amazing! From bird watching to archaeology to current affairs, he made the day! If we had made our own way around we would have visited the main historical sites but we would have missed so much. We saw arctic terns diving into the sea off Nousty Sand as well as Great Skuas and seals. We were fortunate with the weather, after a very wet week, and the views across to the other islands were spectacular. Highly recommend this." - J

"We want to thank you for the great trip we enjoyed on Monday and the variety of information you told us about Rousay's more recent and past history. It was a very good mixture of nature, archaeology and present living! The time was flying without notice!" - A&S (Stuttgart)

"Had a fantastic day tour around this very interesting island. Paddy just knows so much(thanks Paddy) and makes the day fun. The folks we shared the minibus knew so much too! The picnics also worth booking - the deluxe one especially yummy as was the Grimbister cheese. Before getting the ferry from Tingwall we popped into Betty's Reading Room - what a lovely little place and great to read about how it came about. Highly recommend this trip." - JB

"On behalf of J, M and myself thank you so much for the most wonderful tour yesterday which was excellent in every way and absolutely the highlight of the holiday" - AF

"On Tuesday, I went on the Rousay Tour with my Guide, Patrick Maguire, where he picked me (and 6 other intrepid explorers) up for a wonderful day tour of the fascinating island of Rousay. The island is roughly round shaped and has a relatively low population for its size. The tour included trips to MidHowe Chambered Tomb and MidHowe Broch, as well as Blackhammer and Taversoe Tuick Chambered Tombs. Patrick was an excellent host and was a mine of useful information about the island. Patrick is originally from Northern Ireland and his easy Irish charm was just the tonic for my inquisitive group ...." - LA

"Just wanted to thank you for a fantastic day, guiding and tour on Rousay island. It was very much appreciated by all of us. Thank you so much!" - AP

"We had booked this trip with Paddy Maguire in advance. Simple to take the ferry over as passengers (with no car, advance booking on the ferry not required) with Paddy to meet you. This was the best of organised tours with something for everyone: wildlife, unbelievable archaeology, information on the other islands, amazing views and just so much fascinating knowledge provided by Paddy. We did not take advantage of the picnic hampers (reasonable extra charge) but wish we had. A brilliant day out and great value." - AD

"Thanks very much for our tour today. The weather couldn't have been better and the information you gave us made the tour really interesting - we would have missed loads of things if we had come over under our own steam and I'm very glad I didn't have to reverse onto the ferry!" - H&A

"We booked this trip in advance. Patrick has a minibus so spaces could be limited therefore I recommend booking in advance if you want a particular day. We were met from the ferry and there were 6 people on our tour. We drove around the island and had various sites pointed out to us. It was really interesting to hear what life was like on Rousay and also what it is like to live there today. We stopped at a beautiful bay for a picnic lunch. You can pre-book this and I strongly recommend it. Each couple had their own mini hamper with plates and cutlery. We had salad and dressing and crab sandwiches, oatcakes, Orkney cheeses, fruit and cereal bars. Really good. There were seals swimming in the bay and a pair of gannets diving - quite idyllic. After lunch, we visited Mid Howe and the Broch and a few other tombs before we were dropped back at the harbour for the ferry." - K
